Born on August 6, 1941 in Kokomo. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and attended Churubusco High School. She was a daughter of Wayne and Naomi (Phillips) Byrd. She retired from C & A Tools in Churubusco. Torchia loved her family and enjoyed spending time with friends at Blue River Apartments. She is preceded in death by her parents. Torchia is survived by two daughters, Kim Fry of Epping, NH and Tina (Tim) Herendeen of Churubusco; a son, DG Fry of Churubusco; her identical twin sister, Georgia (James) Schenher of LaOtto; a brother Bradley Byrd of Columbia City; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Calling also one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Churubusco Church of the Nazarene on October 2, 2017.
